Dracula - Scented Book Candle
Scent: The Sunrise
Size: 12.5 oz.
This literary candle is inspired by the first edition of Dracula, published in 1897 by Archibald Constable and Company in London, and priced at 6 shillings.
1897 was a good year for vampires. Philip Burne-Jones’s painting The Vampire was exhibited for the first time and caused a sensation. Rudyard Kipling, inspired by Burne-Jones’s painting, wrote a poem, also called The Vampire.
And finally, Bram Stoker’s iconic novel, Dracula, was presented to the public.
Sunrise is deadly for Dracula, it is the end. But the sunrise also symbolizes new beginnings, a new life.
What should Dracula's Sunrise smell like? We combined fresh and citrusy notes with the earthiness of bergamot and cedar. And a hint of vanilla for a little twist.
Funny fact: according to Bram Stoker’s son Noel, the genesis of Dracula was a terrifying dream about a vampire king rising from his tomb, brought on by eating too much lobster.
